Yogesh and Hrishikesh,

you can read the details and direction in the book डोंगरयात्री - आनंद पाळंदे

I was not the one who planned the trek. so cannot give you details right away

Hi,

From Pune (Swargate):
Take any bus going to Maangav via Tamhini
Ghat. Get down at Nizampur. Take a 6
seater to Borwadi. Start walking from
there, can reach Maangad within an hour.

To goto Kokandiwa: Get down to khind
and walk eastwards to Majurne. From
there, climb up Kumbhe ghat. Walking
route is shorter, but it is easy to
get lost. You may go by tar road,
cross a small tunnel and reach the
Janani temple. From here, it is about
3-4 hours walk to village Ghol. There
is only one village (Kumbhe Wadi) along
the way. Good chances of getting lost!
If you are smart and lucky, will reach
Ghol by the time it gets dark. Stay
in Ghol. Next morning, easy walk
to Garjai wadi, and then to Kokandiwa.

Then you may go back to Ghol, but no
bus back to Pune until next morning.
Alternatively, you can get down the
Kavalya ghat and reach Sandoshi in
Konkan. But not sure if you will get
any bus from there either...

Wish you good luck,

Pramod

Forgot to mention: on way to Ghol, there
are small snakes - green color, small
size (about 60 cm.) and triangular head.
Don't know whether they are poisonous. You
better be careful...

Pramod and others,
These are green vine snakes, non poisonous for humans . But yes do be careful, you don't want to alarm one in to biting you :)

As Rama Bhave said, yes those are Vine Snakes called as 'Harantol' - हरणटोळ in Marathi. These are semi posionous snakes and found all over sahyadri's and western ghats. do Not worry about them as they won't attack unless and untill human intervention in their path.
